If you enjoy scrapbooking or card-making, or you’d like to learn, please join us at the library on Saturday, November 19. The event runs all day, and lunch will be provided, so come when you like and stay as long as you like. Share ideas with other scrapbookers, work on projects together, learn about new materials, and take part in a make-and-take at 6:30 pm. Registration is $25 per person, and all proceeds go to help support library programs. Please register by Nov. 12.

We’re considering the possibility of adding morning hours on one day a week, probably Wednesdays, so that we could have a morning story hour, which several parents have requested. This would probably require closing the library on Saturdays to meet our budget. We want to hear your opinion on this! Please help us by filling out a survey while you’re at the library, or just leave us a comment here.
The book club will be taking the summer off, but to make up for it we’ll be discussing two books when we come back: The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, the first installment of Alexander McCall Smith’s popular series of cozy mysteries set in Botswana; and Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s memoir Infidel, about escaping her fundamentalist Islamic upbringing in northern Africa. Stop by the front desk to pick up a copy of either book, or both. The meeting will be Monday, Sept. 12 at 6:30 in the evening.
